MEETING & SWAP SHOP THURSDAY, FEB 9, 7:30 PM IN BILL'S BASEMENT
Club meetings are generally held on the 2nd Thursday of each month. During the winter months (October through March), we move inside and meet in Bill Drake's basement at 7:30 PM. During the months of April through September, we meet at our flying field at 7:00 PM. Sometimes the date may shift due to other events (such as our Christmas party), so click on the calendar tab above to see the exact date/location for each meeting. The calendar lists all of our club activities along with a few other noteworthy events for the year. Come to our meetings and have a voice in choosing what we do and when we do it. It's your club!
Our February meeting will include a time to buy, sell, and swap your extra airplanes, engines, tools, and flying equipment. This is a great time to pick up some bargains and to make a little money on the stuff that is just gathering dust.
Bill's house is located at 201 Green Hill Circle at the corner of Elita Drive. This residential area is located behind Chili's and the Outback Steakhouse located west of downtown Gainesville on the Dawsonville Highway (Hwy. 53). To get to the basement, walk around to the back of the house to the basement door. Call Bill at 770-532-6109 if you need directions.
Directions to our field can be found by clicking on "Home" and scrolling toward the bottom.
In the event of bad weather (see below) we will move from the field back to Bill's basement. Be sure to always check our calendar for details. For example our December meeting is always held in a restaurant.
BAD WEATHER PROCEDURES
In the event of bad weather on the day of a meeting or event please give any officer a call to make sure you know the latest changes. The club will post the change on our website (www.gamtnrc.org) and we'll send out an e-mail notification. However, if you don't have access to a computer just before the meeting or event, and weather could be a factor, please call an officer. You can find a complete list of club officers by clicking on "Contact Us" on the club website or by referring to your club roster. We'll make the decision early enough in order to get the word out. Sometimes the weather will improve following the decision to move or cancel the event. If weather has been a factor during the day and you can't check your e-mail or the club website, the best bet is to make the call.
